there are many version of the myth too.
some day he killed his children. some say he killed his children and his wife. some say he gave his wife to his brother. Some say to his nefew.
The myth all really depends on the sorce or writer.
Heracles was very arrogant. He was carless and short tempored. He would often kill by accient of a rage but then he would seek purification by many ways.
I agree as well. Hercules in the movie is a better person at heart.

DID YOU KNOW...
Hera (Roman name: Juno)
Hera was goddess of marriage and the queen of Olympus. She was Zeus's wife and sister; many myths tell of how she sought revenge when Zeus betrayed her with his lovers. Her symbols include the pea-c-o-c-k and the cow.
(It wont let me spell pea-c-o-c-k, so I put the spaces between the letters. When I spell (peathingy) it comes out like that)

Did you know... Hercules was actually the son of the mortal woman Alcmene. He had a twin brother named Iphicles, who was the son of Amphitryon, Alcmene's husband.

i knew that.
Zeus posed as Alcemene's husband when he was away.
His twin's brother's father was Amphitryon. (sp?)
so they had the same mother, different fathers...
lol.
