HEY GUYS!!!! I HAVE BAD NEWS ABOUT PLUTO, or should I say Plutoid. Scientists have taken away Pluto's name! (They say that Plutoid will be a term for dwarf planets that orbits the sun at a greater distance than Neptune. It also must have enough mass so that it can form a spherical shape.)
POOR PLUT.. *sees scientist* ...OID!

Of course Zeus was first; the ancient Greeks predate Jesus by about 800 years or more. Names change and so do their meanings depending upon the culture. Sure, it could've been taken from the Greeks, but that's not definitive proof. Jesus's real name is the Hebrew Yeshua, which is a shortened version of Yehoshuah (my brother's name) that means "Yahweh (God) is salvation". The Greek alphabet is very similar to the Hebrew (alpha/alef, beta/bet, gamma/gimel, delta/dalet, etc.) so it's quite feasible that other things were absorbed and dispersed between the cultures. It's actually more likely that he was stolen from Heracles (which still fits with the whole thing you said, Jessye), but I don't feel comfortable getting into this kind of speculation. I'm not a religious scholar. DID YOU KNOW.... 'Ie' means 'hail' and sus or sous means 'Zeus'. Iesous is greek for jezus, but that name actual means 'Hail Zeus!' DID YOU KNOW...
In Emperor's New Groove, pay attention to the cactus in the background right before Yzma and Konk poison Kuzco. The cactus is a normal looking cactus right behind Yzma but right after he drinks the poison and turns into a llama, the camera switches back to Yzma and the cactus has somehow turned into the shape of a llama

1. The Spheroid Formerly Known As Pluto (Yep. Prince reference.) has a moon named Charon. Charon is actually the ferryman who takes souls to the Underworld at the cost of two gold coins. Sooooo....the Greeks always put coins under their dearly departed's eyelids so that they don't have to walk the earth and scare the living daylights out of people by walking around in a stupor.
2. Mars (AKA Ares, God of Warcraft...er, I mean WAR.) has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. Those two names actually mean "fear" and "panic." Think about it.... Panic: I've got a cooler other name! Nah nah nah, nah nah!! Pain: Oh, Fudge it! She doesn't even KNOW mine! Panic: Er....really?

So it makes sense.

According to my Western History professor, women (girls) in ancient Greece wore their hair up in simple ponytails until they were married. Once they were married it was custom to wear their hair either down or in more elaborate styles, like braided plaits. I take everything with a grain of salt and I haven't found much solid evidence of this, but it's interesting if it is in fact true.

DID YOU KNOW:
In the original myth, during Heracles' battle with the Hydra, Hera sends a large Crab to attack the hero while he's fighting, and trying to slow him down so the Hydra could have him for a snack. And it almost works, but both the Crab and the monster go down. But in a sort of "Thanks for trying" gesture, Hera created a constellation in honor of the Crab, which is known today as "Cancer."
. . . There's a nice thought for any people under the Cancer sign who's a member here. . .
