I think it sounds better, because we're more familiar with it. I read somewhere that Disney decided to use Hercules instead of Heracles because they knew that they would get tons of letters saying "You got the name wrong". I found that to be an interesting bit of info.

yeah. Hercules is more commonly know.
Jut like Cupid is more commonly known than Eros. I acutally prefer Eros though. Infact i perfer all the greek names except Heracles. I like Hercules better.

Cupid makes you think about a chubby little baby with wings.
Eros make you think of a young extremly attractive male god with wings.
I think the imagry is more appealing as well... lol
