The following text is a conversation I had with Bella on MSN. I thought we made some good points, and I just wanted to post it here. But before anyone continues on to read it, I'd like to explain a few things.
1) Vincent is a name that people involved in the online Beauty and the Beast fandom have come up with to call the Beast post-transformation when he becomes a prince.
2) Bella and I have a HUGE crush on Vincent. Cuz let's just face it, he's HOT! SMOKIN' HOT! (As hot as Hercules hot! In my humble opinion at least.) We even have different days during the week that we "get" him. I get him on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while Bella gets him on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We alternate Sundays. I'd like to think of us as the presidents of the "Vincent Fanclub."
3) I am currently writing Beauty and the Beast fanfiction. So far I'm having a lot of fun with my writing. However, I struggled with my first Hercules fanfic, so I thought it'd be cool to compare Belle and Meg. I feel like I know Belle really well as a character, therefore she is easier to write. Whereas with Meg I feel like she is a more challenging character to write in fanfiction. This comes from the fact that we DO NOT know what she is like with Hercules after the movie ends. The movie doesn't seem to give much insight into her's and Herc's relationship. I think the fact that Meg is also very unpredictable makes her harder to write.
4) This thread is for insights into Meg's character and what she would be like in her relationship with Hercules. What her needs would or wouldn't be, how she'd go about getting them met, etc... I would love to write future fanfics, but I want to do Meg's complex character justice. I want my portrayal of her to be accurate.
5) I expect this thread to remain civil and peaceful at ALL TIMES. We are all entitled to our own opinions, and we all possess the right to disagree with one other. Even if you disagree with someone, state your argument and respect the person whose opinion may differ from your own. Have consideration for the other members who are participating in this discussion. I will not stand for any opinion bashing against mine or anyone's opinions. You can speak your mind and still be nice. It isn't really that hard.
6) This quote: "Besides the fact that Belle gets him by night could just mean that they hold each while they're sleeping," actually refers to a joke I made to Bella. I believe what I said was: "We get Vincent by day, Belle gets him by night! -wink wink nudge nudge-" It was exactly that, a joke. Which I elaborated upon and said it didn't have to refer to anything "naughty." It depends on the way your mind works. ;D
7) If you're the type of person who can't stand reading or talking about intimate relations, then I highly suggest you don't read on. However, if you feel mature enough to handle reading about that type of thing, then by all means, keep crackin'!
Without further or do, you may read now!

Besides the fact that Belle gets him by night could just mean that they hold each while they're sleeping.
Eve says:
Sweet things like that!
Bella says:
Aww, that is sweet! ♥
Eve says:
♥
Eve says:
Same thing Meg/Herc.
Bella says:
Exactly. Love is sweet.
Eve says:
But Meg seems like much more of a passionate woman if you catch my drift...
Bella says:
Yeah, she probably is. Love is sweet.... like choc... no, like love.
Eve says:
Belle is sweet and Meg is feisty.
Bella says:
Yes yes!
Eve says:
Yeah, love is sweet. Sweet like chocolate sounds the best.
Bella says:
YEAH!
Bella says:
Eve says:
Belle seems like she would be more careful about being intimate, she seems to have a bit more sense...?! Like she doesn't ALWAYS let emotions overcome her. Whereas Meg might be the type to have more longing and want to be shown that she's loved in that way...
Eve says:
Or maybe I'm wrong.
Eve says:
Yeah! Is right!
Bella says:
Yeah, I agree. You are very right!
Eve says:
Thanks. I just think that Meg is maybe less secure. Even if she's loved, there
might always be a little part of her that is still afraid of the hurt.
Bella says:
Yeah, I think Meg is the type of person that likes to hear the words 'I love you' every once in awhile, while Belle just knows. Maybe.....
Eve says:
Or maybe she'd be the type to feel completely safe and secure and wouldn't need intimate relations to let her know that she's loved. Perhaps she could get by with lots of sweet, touching moments. I dunno...
Bella says:
Yeah, that's better than what I said.
Eve says:
Yeah. Belle seems like a pretty secure young woman, and even while she'd adore hearing "I love you!" from Vincent, that inside she just knows how deep and true their love is.
Bella says:
Yeah!
Bella says:
Exactly!
Eve says:
Meg's character is the exact opposite from Belle's. Meg is also a lot more complex than Belle so it's hard to analyze how she'd feel in a situation where she's totally in love.
Eve says:
I can't decide what would be OOC (out of character) and IC (in character) for her...
Bella says:
Yeah, me neither.
Bella says:
*shrugs*
Eve says:
In terms of Herc showing her love and she would need from him to feel "loved."
Eve says:
Maybe that's something to discuss on Herc-Haven.
Bella says:
Yeah, I agree. We need another Herc+Meg=love thread!
Eve says:
We do, and honestly, I'd like some insight into this interesting new issue.
Eve says:
Because I officially can't work through it.
Bella says:
Me too!
Eve says:
I'm thinking it's because Meg is so unpredictable at times.
Bella says:
I want to get everyone's opinion. Yeah, she finally falls in love, even though she was mostly against the whole idea.
Eve says:
Yeah, so this is a toughie.
Eve says:
Would you mind if I copied and pasted bits from this conversation into the thread?
Eve says:
Maybe more than just bits. The majority of our insights.
Eve says:
Bella says:
No, of course not!
Eve says:
Okay, cool! I can't wait to get started on this. It'll help me with writing future Meg/Herc fics. I feel confident writing Belle/Vincent, but Meg/Herc are harder to write. They're more complex characters.
Bella says:
They are very hard to write. Their personalities are very different and the movie doesn't give enough insight to their relationship.
Eve says:
Exactly!
Eve says:
Their differences make them the perfect match, but they're so drastic.
Bella says:
Yes. but they are very drastic!
Eve says:
And there really isn't enough insight into their relationship at all. That's why I struggled with In Love!Meg.
Bella says:
Yeah.
Eve says:
They are! It's clear that they care about one another for sure, but having two characters that are so vastly different from one another makes them a lot harder to work with in fiction.
Eve says:
Whereas, Belle is a relatively simple character. Her interests, dreams, hopes, and ambitions are extremely clear. And I get creative freedom with Prince Hotness!Vincent!
Eve says:
I get FULL creative freedom with him! Which makes things so much easier!
Bella says:
Belle and Vincent are easier to write about. Especially because Meg and Herc are very complex and act on impulse, especially Meg.
Eve says:
They do. Both of them have a fascinating way of acting so suddenly.
